    Right now? Snow covered & muddy, take yak traks. Keep in mind with poles this is slower going... Sunset comes early 5-6pm (some ice)

    There was an Old Man with a owl,
    Who continued to bother and howl;
    He sat on a rail, And imbibed bitter ale,
    Which refreshed that Old Man and his owl.

    Do poles help a lot in making your way over snow/ice? Will xc-ski poles do the trick?

    I find poles help me when snoshoeing or when i am in crampons. XC Poles will be too long. If nothing else, wrap some duct tape at a spot where you're arms are horizontal at the pole on flat ground, and you can use this as a shorter makeshift grip.
    .....Someday, like many others who joined WB in the early years, I may dry up and dissapear....
