    Default Trekker

Anyone diggin' the new Thermarest Trekker? I checked it out today at EMS and really liked it. Not sure I want to replace my Pro Lite at the asking price.

The Trekker is 6 oz lighter and packs up a good 3-4" less. Felt good on my back for the minute I 'took a nap' in the store. Doesn't crinkle like the NeoAir and seemed more durable.

6 oz is quite a savings on weight! I haven't seen this yet,,, but it sounds nice. I'll have to check this out. Thanks for making note of it.

I recently purchased one with my dividend and 20% off coupon. I have found it very comfortable being a side-sleeper. The materials appear far more durable than the Neo-air and it does not crinkle. The material is actually almost like felt on the top. In the stuff sack mine weighs 20.4 oz

EMS is having their annual Club Day sale this weekend. You can get a % off that Trekker!

I have a Large Torso Trekker. Extremely happy with it. Slightly heavier than the regular Yellow NeoAir but no 'crinkle' sound. Also should be more durable with the regular fabric. Is rated slightly less in the insulation R value. Mine weighs in at 15.1 oz with the bag (box says 16oz).

I got the regular size with my 20% off and dividend. I've slept on it a couple of times already in the house. Much lighter and packs 75% smaller than my old Trail Lite pad. More comfortable too, although it's an entirely different feeling when you lay on it. I've found that it's best for me when it's only about half filled with air.

So far, I'm very happy with it.

Although more expensive, you may want to consider the new Exped Synmat UL7. Full length it is 15.8oz with an R-value of 3.1 and 2.5" thickness. Insulated with synthetic insulation. I used one down to 26F last week for 4 nights and felt no conductive heat loss.

Can someone please explain this dividend concept to me? I know what a dividend is, it just seems you guys are using it as a different term. Your getting money back from EMS because.....................?

I'm still leaning towards the Pacific Outdoor Equipment Peak Elite AC. The full length version is 14 ounces, R-value is 2.5-4.4, it's 2.5" thick and only costs $90.

REI is a Co-Op. Membership means you own a piece of the company. As a reward to active members REI gives back about 10% of what you spend in a calendar year, ending in March as a share of the profits. You then use that dividend towards the purchase of more toys.

I would wait for the All Season rather than go with the Trekker.
