    Default Duncannon to Port Clinton

    A friend and I are planning to do this section next weekend and want to leave a car at each end. Any suggestions on the best places to park a car for a week would be greatly appreciated.

    i would ask to park rear of the doyal so i could walk straight into town without stopping. and i would park on the street in port clinton out front of the post ofice.

    If there is no room at the post office, the next spot I guess is in front of the locomotive sign on the opposite side of the bridge
    There was an Old Man with a owl,
    Who continued to bother and howl;
    He sat on a rail, And imbibed bitter ale,
    Which refreshed that Old Man and his owl.

    And if that doesn't work, there is a lot on the south side of PA 61 a little bit south of town (only accessible from the south side; if you're on the north side you'll need to go to the main entrance into town and hang a U-turn.) Be warned if you do use this lot that the blue-blaze from the AT involves some very steep and large steps, and if the vegetation is high, the first part of the trail can be obscured. The blue blazes will be on a telephone pole to the left going NOBO, maybe 2/10 of a mile after you've left the last street in Port Clinton. If you walk straight from the pole to the hill, those things that look like rocks sticking out of the hill will turn into steps.

    This is too late for the original OP, but in case anyone else reads this looking for info: rather than saying the "north" and "south" sides of PA 61 above, I should have said "northbound" and "southbound" (which are east and west respectively). Hope no confusion was caused.
