Out of a shelter log

Not a cartoon, but darned clever! From the same shelter log.
This is funny keep them coming, they appeal to my slightly warped sense of humor.

In 1990 there was a thru hiker that had the hometown news papers sent to him at every town and after reading them he would post the FAR SIDE cartoons, 1 / day in a shelter. I was just another great thing to look forward to on the trail.

These are really good! I think this person has a career here - maybe a WB book or something. . . hope he can get it copyrighted soon.
What I want to know is why I don't find anything that interesting the the shelter registers? Last one I read had detailed info on someone's pot party at the shelter.
Thanks for puting these up.

This was in one of the logs near Damascus last year, forgot which one.
Love the comics. 238,900 miles and he never stopped to ask for directions. Someone could use a GPS. Is there a an error message for being on the wrong side of the satellite?
Are you the Geek? The one that hiked with Ziggy the cat? If so, ... .

A few more
2009 had a lot of good cartoon art in the registers. There was a daily original strip by one hiker. I don't remember the title, but it involved a rock character and a rabbit like character, always with an AT theme. Plus, there was a daily hiking tip from Hannah Montana, complete with dazzling colors, stickers, etc. It was interesting to read these as I went SOBO, having to page further and further back into the registers to find them.
