Default Tell It On The Mountain

I stupidly preordered this movie over a year ago, thinking, "This is a movie made by hikers, they won't rip me off."

As far as I can tell, the only work that's been done is changing the dates on their website.

I'd like to ask for my money back, but they don't even have a way of contacting them from their site.

I hope nobody else allows themselves to be snookered out of the cash.

A really big red flag warning for the wise, is web sites that give NO real contact information. And email addresses and cell phone numbers are NOT real contact information. On the other hand, full real names and physical STREET addresses are a good clue.

    Buyer beware.

One rule I have is to never preorder something from someone with no track record of delivering something on time. Tell it on the Mountain has been listed as being due next quarter since 2008 and the date is always changed to the next quarter when the previous date gets near. In 2009, at the ADZPCTKO, the guy showed a rough incomplete cut that was actuallly pretty impressive. The guy has some excellent footage and some great stories to tell, its too bad he has been unable to finish putting it together. Perhaps he is unable to make the hard decisions that this is good enough. Don't really know the story of why it still isn't done 4 years after the footage was shot. Given his history of being unable to bring it out in a quick fashion, its a shame that he continues to update his website implying that he will be finished in a few months and taking your money rather. I know a few people on another forum that got their money back when they asked last year so keep at it.

I've "almost" ordered this a half dozen times, but glad I didn't. Hopefully they can get it all together and published soon... I'll definitely purchase if they ever deliver.

I liked the trailer too. The web page says the release date is Sept 2011. Lets see if its released. Maybe someone on WB will give a review.

I saw the preview of it at the PCT Kickoff. I have been waiting to hear if it's ready. I felt I was left hanging wanting to see how it turns out!
Some knew me as Piper, others as just Diane.

it looks good, something i would watch anyways..... the last few sec of the trailer says "coming 2008" lol.... and above it says "While the film is being presold, there are no guarantees on delivery time. (Estimated shipping date: December, 2010). Weare currently in post-production and editing as fast as we can. " you are right something does not seem right.

And thats the thing. As I mentioned before that I saw a rough cut of it at the 2009 ADZPCTKO and its obvious the guy has some excellent footage and a good story to tell. It's a complete mystery to why he hasn't been able to finish it yet even if its something being worked on in his spare time. If he just completed the ending of what he had in 2009 and added the finishing details, it would be a good documentary.
