Default Thru Hikers in Grayson Highlands, June 21, 2011

I came across these 2 thru hikers when I was day hiking in Grayson Highlands in June. The thought just occurred to me, that they might like to have/see this photo. They picked up the dog in Damascus as a rescue. We chatted for a bit, but I failed to ask their names.

    Maybe someone knows them.

Holy crap - I think I recognize the dog! When I started my thru there was a french canadian kid with a beautiful husky that looked just like this one. I was convinced he would lose her or abandon her - he would just leave her at shelters and she would somehow find her way back to him after a couple days. I passed him very early in the trip though - Hiawassee perhaps. Last I heard from him and the dog was that he tried to convince someone to tie the dog up to a shelter post for "a few days" while he finished hiking through the Smokies.

This kid had NO food on day 1 of his hike, and 4 ounces of pot.

Not sure this is the same dog, but I sort of hope it is.
