    Default NY Shuttle

Hello all - So I've checked the ATC Shuttle provider list and was wondering if anyone had any personal accounts or suggestions for a shuttle between Elk Pen Parking area and NY Route 22. We (3 of us) will be hiking this section sometime in September/October. Any input is appreciated.

    Thanks.

You could take the Metro-North train from the nearby Harriman Station into Penn Station, make your way to Grand Central, and then get Metro-North to Pawling. From Pawling you can hike 3 miles north on NY22 to the trail crossing or take a cab. If you're going early on a weekend there are trains right to the AT stop next to the NY22 crossing. These leave GCT about 0830 and 0930.

You also might contact local hiker Sasquatch2014 here on WB.

Thanks for the info. - We are trying to avoid the whole bus/train scenario if possible. We hope to leave our vehicle at/near NY 22 and get a lift back down to ElkPen. I sent Sasquatch2014 a PM.
