    I take this as a joke but nice try. I want them to feel energized and not pissed off. As you said it may push them 20 miles more but not substantially more.

    Hmmm, maybe the following is what OP is looking for:

    "You can do it buddy"
    It's easy to grin / When your trip comes in / And you've got the MUDs and PUDs beat. / But the man worthwhile, / Is the man who does miles, / When his shorts are too tight in the seat.

    Default carpe diem :)

    reminds me of “I have a ‘carpe diem’ mug and, truthfully, at six in the morning the words do not make me want to seize the day. They make me want to slap a dead poet.” ~Joanne Sherman
    Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, either, just leave me alone.

    It's called "Lyme" disease, not "Lymes" disease! (Hint: There's only one Lyme)

    I promise no sign in Connecticut. Good enough?
    the problem with" NO SIGN "sign is that it is one more sign!!!

    Chances are that you have a boring job or you were lucky enough not to experince hell on trails . I prefer the best day at work to my worst day at trail, seriously. It is an overstatement for me. But it is just me.

    I did not look at this view before, good point if many have your point of view. I dont mind a few more signs if they add a meaning to the trails but you have a decent point. Thank you

    Starbucks Ahead!
    (Bring your Credit Card)
    There was an Old Man with a owl,
    Who continued to bother and howl;
    He sat on a rail, And imbibed bitter ale,
    Which refreshed that Old Man and his owl.

    So turning threads to humour has a decent history around here, huh?. I dont mind unless it dominates the forum and posts.
