Has anyone ever used Under Armour heatgear tights for the duration of their thru-hike? Are they comfortable to wear? Do they actually keep your legs cool and is their an actual benefit as far as soreness is concerned?

I thought you said Lightheart gear! dislexics untie!
Yes, I wore them for the southern half last fall. Excellent and doubled as sleep tights. I saved 6 oz. using these and running shorts.
For the money UA costs, I'd just pony up a little more and get the CWX tights that actually have more going for them than a logo.

I'll have to check into the CWX tights. q-tip did you wear them in warm/hot weather? I want to know if there is an advantage to wearing leggings and shorts as opposed to just shorts?
I wouldn't wear insulated tights in hot weather, but I might consider un-inusulated tights as an alternative to lightweight pants as a way to keep the ticks off.

Ticks are creepy.

Hopefully I'll be starting in early-mid March. Would uninsulated tights be warm enough for the first couple weeks or so?
Aren't all tights uninsulated?

Thought I would try reviving this thread since I haven't received a definitive answer...any more input from all you hiking veterans?
I have a pair of Hind (running gear) insulated tights that I use to hike/sleep in cold weather. I use lighter running tights in warmer weather. They pack up small and dry quickly if you get them wet. I sometimes hike in them but the only problem with them is NO POCKETS.
