Post Miami FL to Southern Start of the LT

Posted this in the Trial Heads/Shuttle section but are I am not getting replies. I am starting to plan a LT hike this summer. I would be flying out of Ft Lauderdale or Miami airport. Where would I need to fly into to start the trail on the Southern end? When I finish at the Northern end, what would be the least complicated way to get to an airport to fly back home? Any help/info is greatly appreciated! Thanks.

From the Albany, NY airport it's about 60-65 minutes to the Williamstown/North Adams trailhead starting a NOBO hike. From the Canadian border the Burlington, VT airport is closest. Several threads here on Whiteblaze about shuttles from Journeys End to Burlington. Here is one:

It might be cheaper to fly to Boston and take a bus to Williamstown, MA - the southern end of the LT is near-by. Flying to small, regional airports like Albany or Burlington can be expensive. But timing is important, if you miss the one bus out to Williamstown that day and have to spend a night in Boston, that would blow any savings out of the water.

I would fly to NYC, take the train to Pittsfield, MA then a cab or shuttle to North Adams, or you can bus out of NYC to Williamstown. Obviously Albany is closer but will be more expensive as well.

From the northern end, get out to Burlington, then fly or train to a cheaper airport.

Anyone know of a shuttle or private that goes from Albany to Williamstown trail head? About how much would it run? Thanks for all the replies so far.

The ATC has a very comprehensive list of shuttlers in each area, I have a copy somewhere but can't find it, perhaps someone could post it here. Otherwise email the ATC and get a copy

Southwest flies into Albany and their prices are pretty reasonable.

Here is the ATC listing of shuttle providers:

I know Dave Ackerson on that list and he is very dependable for the Albany airport run: Daveackerson@yahoo.com

When it gets closer and you know what day you will be flying in, let me know. I work in Albany and live not too far from the trailhead and could possibly give you a lift. I'd be willing to do it on a weekend as well for gas money, as long as it's not during my End-to-End...
