Default UL Clothing for Sobo Thruhike August 1st

I'm a Floridian and I have basically no idea how to layer or dress for cold weather.

Can someone help me with suggestions for all of the basic clothing items I will need, such as what pants and shirt I would wear on a day to day basis. I'm assuming I'll need:

    Two shirts

    One pair of a pants

    Two pairs of boxers

    Two pairs of socks

    A pair of shorts maybe?

A down jacket like the Montbell Down UL.

    Bug net?

Things I have that I was considering bringing:

    Marmot PreCip

Marmot rain paints (not sure if necessary)

    Pair of smartwool socks

That's pretty much all I have, so I'm going to need a complete hiking wardrobe so to speak. Suggestions of brands, specific models, etc., will be appreciated.

Also, I'm planning on using just a pair of trail running shoes. I'm a fast hiker in excellent shape, so hopefully I will be south before any real cold weather hits.

    Some suggestions.
Make sure none of the clothing you have is cotton.
With a pair of pants made of a nylon blend you won't need rain pants to start with since they will dry quickly. Convertible pants are good.
Your clothes layering challenges will come in December and January (if it takes you that long) in the south where it can get very cold. At some point, maybe around November you'll want to ditch the shorts and go with rain pants for cold wet weather and for something to wear when you're doing laundry.
I did NH and ME in August and didn't have any bug problems so you might not need the net.
