    Alpine Bomber
Nobo (Springer to Canada via the LT cut-off, and then flip-flopping solo from Katahdin to the Inn at Long trail if I have time)
    March 27
    No approach trail
Did Katahdin to Manchester Center, VT last year, gotta finish the two trails I started... If you see me heading south, please turn me around. Old habits die hard Started planning this hike about a week ago, so this should be interesting, if nothing else.

Due to some travel changes, I will NOT be doing the approach trail.
I will start at the mountain on the morning of April 10th.
So anyone who is also doing the same, or doing the approach trail on the 9th, let me know who you are as it seems we might end up being somewhat of a group for a while.

    SOBO
    Tentatively June 20
Approach trail: well that's a bit far off for a SOBO. So I'm "leaving this blank".

I'm happy to chat with anyone leaving around my time! Or anyone, really.

My "start date" is long passed; however, there is something to be said. My right knee did not get good results from the Synvisc One injection in December, 2012. The result is a steady decline in its "peace." The ultimate result is that, after a shakedown hike on April 7, it has become clear that my right leg is unsteady. So, instead of trying something big (like my big, since the late 1950's) dream of walking from Georgia to Maine, I will do as many bits and pieces this summer with my Standard Poodle friend, Fleur. My DonJoy unloader brace is a real help, but it cannot do the trail without the help of Synvisc. I think I'll add losing a bit more body weight as well as the already accomplished loss of pack weight. Again and again I have deduced that it isn't how old you are but how much you weigh. In any case, I hope to encounter as many NOBOS and SOBOS as my knee lets me this year.
You never know just what you can do until you realize you absolutely have to do it.

Mr Awesome, Peach'es, Blimy, and Tye Dye are all here sitting around dozing off after eating pancakes and sausage and farm fresh eggs here at Crazy Larry's.

Wonder when I am going to find a thru hiker who can really eat, most likely will have to wait til a southbounder comes along?
