The second edition of Long Distance Hiking on the Appalachian Trail for the Older Adventurer has just been released. The second edition has more information and has been updated to reflect changes in hiking and the AT in the ten years since the first edition was released in 2002.

The book is an invitation to long distance hiking for those 45 and older. It shows how long distance hiking is an accessible adventure that offers a sense of clarity and simplicity that is difficult to find elsewhere.

The book is available from the ATC, various outfitters along the Trail, Amazon, and the author's website - www.gentleartofwandering.com.

Full disclosure - this post was written by the author, David Ryan. I will be happy to answer any questions about the book and hiking in general. Please email me at [email protected].
