Honest? Large sil-nylon poncho with cheap hammock and bug spray... not sure about the names or combinations... But i will check it out and get back....
Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them.

Make your own. My hammock, tarp, and suspensions weighs about 2 lbs and cost me maybe $75. Diygearsupply.com has good options.

I think cheap and light are mutually exclusive.

Personally my current setup is a Light Hiker with a MacCat Deluxe. Great combo. I recently had the 2QZQ RW mod done to the hammock and love it.

I just received my Butt in a Sling hammock and I'm very impressed. It is longer than most hammocks (11 ft) and comes in at 6 oz. I got the Knotty mod and it is a nice addition.

It's less expensive than most parachute nylon hammocks but is much, much lighter.

+1 just got mine as well, a Weight Weenie from BIAS, very light and very reasonably priced. Add a tarp and you are on your way.
