Default What places are not to be missed?

Are there any waterfalls or places of immense beauty that are right off the trail that shouldn't be missed?

Jones Falls .1 off the trail about 5 miles after mountain harbor hostel in TN (also not to be missed-best breakfast ever)

Falls right after kincora hostel are pretty cool too.

If you get that far the cabin at Upper Goose Pond in Mass. is hard to beat. Situated on a glacer pond .5 miles from the AT. A inclosed cabin with bunks. Kitchen. Fireplace in dining/common room. Great swimming, a canoe for hikers to use, spring water delivered and coffee and pancakes for breakfast. Best of all the cost to hikers is $0.

Datto - This has got to be the single BEST article on the AT!! You absolutely ROCK. Thanks so much for sharing this.

And Grampie, thanks for the vote of confidence. You can start that pool on me any time. I'd love to take your money.

Weaverton Cliffs, Harpers Ferry W.Va. A short blue blaze to the right of the AT just before you descend to the C&O Towpath.
