    Default 1 week hike suggestions?

    hello I`m going backpacking in the us in sept/oct 2012 for a month and the only thing ive planned so far is that im arriving in new york and I have to stop by richmond VA sometime at the end of the trip. I like small towns and even better "ghost town" type sight seeing and of course old american or native am. landmarks would be great. and if anyone know of any nice fares or fastivals around that time that would be great too

    There are only 50 members on line at the moment. - its 11:33 PM and its winding down.

    There are few places or American indian living learning areas in the east, most are static museums. However Williamsburg is awesome, and close to where you are going http://www.history.org/ I recommend it, as for hiking, check the Catskills NY http://catskillguide.com/hiking.htm and I am sure the southerners will have some ideas for you.
    There was an Old Man with a owl,
    Who continued to bother and howl;
    He sat on a rail, And imbibed bitter ale,
    Which refreshed that Old Man and his owl.
