Thread: WTB: 2p tent

    Default WTB: 2p tent

I'm jonseing for a Stratospire 2 or Double Rainbow, dying for a SMD Lunar Duo - Explorer, aching for a Big Sky Evolution or Revolution 2P, but....I've only got about 100 bucks. Soooo, I'm looking for the lightest 2 person I can find. Definitely looking for tarptent or tent style and not a tarp/fly. I'm new to the backpacking world so I hate to have to buy twice, but budget rules right now so its either buy the best I can with the money I have or stick with the dayhikes until the cash fairy arrives.

New, the best I can find is a Kelty Salida 2 at about $128 shipped but weighing in at between 60-72 oz. Used, I haven't had so much luck finding anything before it has already sold. I would consider the SMD Lunar Duo - Outfitter, but in the end, it seems like I would still be spending even more to still be buying short term/wrong. I'd rather minimize the spend so I can camp now while saving up for a true lightweight.

Doesn't have to be a huge 2 person. Kinda tight is fine though super tight isn't (my hiking partner is a both scared of night visitors and can be a touch claustrophobic without a little room to move).

If you have something suitable to sell or can point me towards a good option, I would appreciate it.

    Thanks

I have a Tarptent Cloudburst 2 (http://www.tarptent.com/cloudburst2.html). It had a pinole in the roof, which I patched. The patch has been weather tested. I'm looking to get $160 for it.

This is about the best I found for an actual backpacking tent... http://www.ebay.com/itm/North-Face-2...item3f184760c5 I would ask the actual carry wt before bidding...
