Default Section Hike Vermont, Mass, and Conn in Sept/Oct

I want to section hike the Vt, MA and CT in sept into oct. i'll actually be starting on the Long Trail, and merging onto the LT southbound. weather wise i'll be catching what i believe to be the last of the season's hiking before i have to worry too much about snow for the season. its ok if i get a few inches that will melt quickly, just no bigger snow storms, which aren't likely that early in the season.

the question is what happens with the average weather in mass and conn? if i chose to continue sobo, since i'm traveling south i should be slowly leaving the odds of being hindered by snow. the colder temps don't scare me too much. i just dont want to shlep in the snow.

should be fine? don't recommend it?

    thanks in advance

The weather in Ma. & Ct in Sept and Oct is perfect for hiking. Only difficulties for me have been cold rain.

The weather in in Southern New England in September, will be Balmy to perfect, and in October it will be perfect for hiking. Maybe a long sleeve shirt in the evening.

I'll probably leave somewhere between the 15th and 20th of sept. but from the top of the long trail, on the canadian border. when it hooks up to the AT in southern VT i'll stay on the it through mass and ct. I might go further, since i dont have have a deadline to get back to for anything? I'm def planning being able to see some awesome leaves. thanks
