    Default DIY Hammock

Well I have purchased the material and the straps. I will soon purchase the slings for the hammock ends and ridge line. (and, yes it is fun to say whoopie sling) I plan on a whip finish rather than a knot, so what is the prefered material to tie off the ends of a gathered end hammock?

I purchased matterial from Quest Outfitters, I plan on hemming the ends when I get the length that I want and tieing off the end with a cord of some kind. I just don't know what kind of rope/cord/string is perfered. I want somthing that will snug together and not cut into itself or the fabric.
From what I understand you can knot the end also but I do not think that will look as neat.

I just use a zip tie on each end.

If you want a knot, use a sheet bend.
