Thread: FBC barley

    Default FBC barley

    Has anyone tried barley in an FBC meal?

    I planned to have a chicken and rice meal last night, and then dehydrate the leftover rice. Not enough rice for dinner though - much less leftovers. I did have pearled barley, so I cooked up a pot of that instead.

    The leftovers dried well overnight, but I'm wondering how rehydration is going to go. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    -FA

    I'm not a FBC user...but I do use Quick Barley often in place of rice. Cooks in 10 mins. Good for the fiber too.

    There was an Old Man with a owl,
    Who continued to bother and howl;
    He sat on a rail, And imbibed bitter ale,
    Which refreshed that Old Man and his owl.

    Cooked and dehydrated, it works well.

    Will do.

    I'm thinking I may try something on the order of Cheesy Chicken Barley. Or maybe Beef Barley Soup.

    FYI: Bought the pearled barley at the international grocery for much less per pound than the little boxes at the grocery store.
