    There was an Old Man with a owl,
    Who continued to bother and howl;
    He sat on a rail, And imbibed bitter ale,
    Which refreshed that Old Man and his owl.

    !
    Our oldest son got West Nile back in 2001. It totally knocked him out with flu-like symptons, plus the stiff neck, for 2 weeks!

    Long sleeves and long pants go a long way, a branch, bandana or a baseball cap in the hand while hiking and general, easy swatting motion works very well when hiking through really bad areas.

    Or course taking breaks at windy spots is good. :-)

    Quick pitching tent is a godsend when stopping for the night in an infested area.

    We had once a week in hell where one could not really escape the pesky ba$tards where sub 3 minute tent pitch was a huge advantage. Throw everything inside, hop inside and zip the tent and kill all mosquitoes that got in before you collapse to rest

    Yea that doesn't work - without a pee bottle. My son came in once after dark and let a 100 in less than a minute.... couple hours later I look up with a flash light and the suckers were waiting to be let out! Hundreds of Females on the inside - bloated.
