Parking in davenport

Hikeing from mt leconte to davnport gap in late august/early sept. Where abouts do you park your car in davenport?

There are 2 places that I know of.
First is the ranger station just as soon as you exit the park, about a mile off trail. The other is Standing Bear Hostel on Green Corner Rd, just off exit 451 on I-40. He charges $2 a day, but at least there's someone watching your car.
