Default Kelley Stand Rd SOBO to N. Adams

My friends and I have an October hike set for hiking approx 40 miles South from Kelley Stand Rd (Vt) to North Adams and are in debate over doing it in 3 or 4 days. Physically we are in "good" to "very good" shape but banging out 12/15/14 miles over three days (plus drive time on both ends 3hrs+-) is starting to sound like a stretch. I am the one one that pushed for doing it in three days but now I'm starting to rethink it. The four day would look like 8/13/13/7 any thoughts??

If days 1 and 4 are driving days then that makes a lot of sense. It would allow you to have a nice easy first day on the trail.
Pain is a by-product of a good time.
