    Default Doing a yo yo

A hiker named Sharkey has completed his NOBO and has turned around and headed south to Ga. As far as I know he is not blogging or keeping an online journal. If anyone knows him maybe you could keep us updated on his progress. I'm impressed with anyone who can keep walking after completing a thru. Does anyone know how many yo yo 's are completed on the AT each year?

Well yeah, I had to get up at 4:00 to get a lunch made. I couldn't go back to sleep right away...

Y'know, if I had the time & resources for a yo-yo, I'd do the second yo on a different trail. Just sayin'.

If you think about it a true yo-yo could only be SOBO - NOBO.

I had to really think about that one... still not sure... NOBO- then... SOBO. Then a true yo-yo would be SOBO-NOBO. GOT IT!!!

A YO-YO starting from Springer could maybe be designated OY-OY (in the the vein of GAME vs. MEGA). Then one would automaticaaly know if is was a south to north then back, or vice-versa.

So a true Yo-Yo (for those of us in the northern hemisphere) would be a MEGA-GAME, no?

Is this the Sharkey that started in mid-Feb? If it is, didn't he start with another girl? Suzy? Where is she?

We had a Sharkey here June 23rd...hiking with a woman named Rummy. I believe Sharkey hiked the AT in 1992 and this is his 20th anniversary hike. Here is a photo:

No, I think the options would be MEGAME or GAMEGA

Now to the Pronunciation thread on how to pronounce meh-GAH-mee and guh-MEE-guh.

That looks like the people I met on the approach trail in Feb. I remember struggling each step and they breezed by me without a sweat.

It may be the same Sharkey. I know he hiked into Damascus with Daddy-O and Daddy-O started in Feb.

Bump- yeah, I wish I could sit down and talk to this hiker for a few minutes.. I'd love to know his motivation and thinking. I really don't see how he can do it...interesting! :0)
