What is the best alcohol stove to make to use with a heineken pot? Trying to reduce the weight of my cook system.

Like Oops says, there are lots that will work. You will probably want to stay with a can that is 2 1/4" diameter or less. Lots of people use a simple tea light candle tin that is 1 1/2 " in diameter and will only hold about 15 ml(1/2 oz)of fuel. V-8 cans and weddiing tins are other cans that work nicely.

My personal stove for Heineken pots looks like this:

It's 2" in diameter, holds up to an ounce of fuel, and does the job.

Here's a video of it in action.*

Warning: this vid is long(14 minutes), boring, and and of no interest to anyone but stovies. I made it to test out a new digicam and to see how it looked on bliptv.

I can't get it to sit right on the supercat. The one I put up earlier is almost as easy to make. The wedding tin type stoves like the starlyte and ion look cool, I haven't tried them yet. Check out bplite.com for many ideas.

Right now I'm using a stove made out of a tuna can. I am using 3 hex bolts screwed into some of the holes around the top of the can for pot stand and it works well with my Texsport BlackIce cookset. I haven't weighed it yet, but I just injured my back at work. So now I am wanting to try to make something lighter than that. I also made one of skidsteers coffee makers and was trying to figure out a way to only carry that sotve and pot all together. My Black Ice Pots won't fit in the ziploc container and the container won't fit in my pot.

Read through this thread, it will show you how to make a very stable stove for a Heineken Pot. It's not the lightest stove around, but it's the most stable.

Lot's of good stoves listed here for you to consider as a DIY project. We wish you well and hope you become a Stovie
