Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them.

I did a section hike of bartram trail. For about a 1/3 of it, I walked with my trekking poles out in front of me in circles non-stop. I love BT because it is far less traveled, but holy hell were there nothing but spider webs.

Summer/Fall in Florida has nothing but giants webs of Golden Orb Weavers or as we locals call them Banana Spiders
I hiked an 8ish mile trail a few weeks back and must have seen thousands of these guys

It usually takes about 3 webs within a 3 minute time period & I've had my fill. I throw on my bug headnet and go for broke. Webs be damned!

It IS kind of nasty when I take a break and see the sides of my pack covered in webs. UGH. And the tickling feeling you get when a web has hitched a ride on your sweaty arm but you can't seem to get it off.

I can only wave the "magic trekking pole wands" for so long.
"The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep."
