Default Strange Monolith south of Salisbury CT

A few miles south of Salisbury CT on the AT is a strange monolith standing in the woods. The ground around it is worn bare, as if by people walking around it.

Does anyone know what this is? Do people visit it & perform human sacrifices or something? I can't seem to find anything on the web about it apart from a few photos.

All I know is it's called "The Thumb." Kinda weird the first time you come upon it. Easy to imagine a wide variety of bizarre explainations.
I personally like to think it was placed by space aliens to confuse bigfoot.

I'm not supposed to tell, but yes, Druids put it there and yes, much blood, mostly rebel blood has been spilt there by the light of the moon. ...

That's Giant's Thumb. It's not man made... just a rock that's been pushed into place by glacial activity.
    Don't take anything I say seriously... I certainly don't.
