Roan Mountain in June is the same scenario. We grunted up the steep back slope and crossed the parking lot, full of cars, crammed with tourists. One of them looked at us in a shocked way and offered us a ride back down. I said, "Thanks, but we got this far, we're out to be miserable the rest of the way".
