North of Old Town Road for approximately 0.5 mile the A.T. makes a steep ascent of Rocky Ridge from approximately 730 feet elevation to almost 1200 feet elevation. Approximately 0.2 mile north of the Old Town Road crossing. this rectangular rock decorated with a black cross can be located in a clearing just west of the trail. SoBo 1074.3 NoBo 1104.8
