The makes a more or less straight shot 4 miles from this point to the summit of Big Bald. Lots of ups and downs.

As I hiked through here with my dad in April 2002 I learned to eat dandelion greens. That\'s a good steady climb for sure once you head up Big Bald itself. Heard my first coyotes up there too.

Thats pretty cool,I have a few that pass through my farm ocasionally. I'm less than an hour from Sams Gap, on the Holston river.
