It can be fun to hike on days like this.
I remember my 10-mile dayhike from Taconic State Parkway to Depot Hill Road on April Fool's Day, 2001. I encountered a half-dozen large turkey crossing the trail in the mist about 40 yards in front of me. On the ridgeline, I could hear the traffic far below, but it was strangely muffled yet closeby.
