Description for fall color in the Pemi Wilderness

This photo was taken on 9-30-06 on the A.T. about 1 mile north of Zealand Falls hut where the trail goes along the side of Whitewall Mountain on the old railroad grade. The view is SW into the Pemi Wilderness. The colors weren't great but it will give you some idea what you would see hiking thru NH this time of year.

I walked this section about two weeks earlier and took almost the same picture, so the colors sure look good to me! -
