Squeaky '03 - sobo
I met Squeaky on my section hike from Springer to Dick's Creek Gap. I was in my sleeping bag at around 20:00 hrs. in the Gooch Mountain Shelter when I heard some noise and saw a light coming rapidly towards me. I was startled, never having encourtered someone hiking by headlamp, and called out to ask who it was. Turns out it was Squeaky. He was very friendly and we talked for a little while before hie went to set up his tent. Actually, the afternoon I arrived on top of Springer, his folks were up there waiting for him to finish. When I say him at Gooch Gap, he was planning on finishing at Springer the next day. He can indeed haul! |
