When we were there in '98 this was the worse privy I'd ever seen. I rated it a -4! I opened the door and was amazed at the swarm of green flies inside. We were going to spend the night at the shelter but decided to move on.

I absolutely HAD to go when I reached this shelter. When I walked towards the privy, I heard another hiker say "We'll see if he comes back or not, then we'll know it's safe." Didn't make it past the threshold. I ran back to the shelter to grab a shovel I'd seen leaning against the shelter, then made my peace.
Stay far, far away.
