Quarry Gap Shelter

Photo Details
Poster: Sparky!  (see this users gallery)

Quarry GapShelter is just north of Caldonia State Park. This is a great shelter. Two sleeping areas with a common area in the middle. There are ten platforms to the right of this picture and a stream near by. Nice cement park bench as well to rest your weary bones.

Change... The tent platforms are to the left of this picture

The caretaker of this shelter is amazingly dilligent and friendly. Can't imagine a nicer fellow...at least that was the case in 1995...

The spring is about 20' in front of the shelter next to a stream to cool one's feet in. And there are hooks on the backside to hang wet clothes up. The posts were wide enough for me to string my hammock out. Luckily no one wanted to start up a fire in the fireplace. The area is really great.
