I'm gonna go with tray mountain shelter the view was amazing looking down over that little town seeing a chopper fly below me. I camped right before the shelter on the right. Right on the cliff.

1. Any area in Maine near the many lakes & ponds in the state. The shelter at Pierce Pond is very close to the shore.
2. The summit of Hightop Mountain in Shenandoah NP, Virginia
3. Stratton Pond, Vermont.

There are some nice spots to pitch a tent at the top of South Marshall in SNP right off the AT. When the leaves are on the trees, there is not much of a view but in winter and early spring there are filtered viewed to the west.

Although it was was too early in the day to stop and camp. I would have to go with The Punchbowl Shelter. Not sure how much the trail magic moonshine we drank there has to do with my choice though...

Ethan Pond in NH. Love sitting on the rocks next to the pond watching the sun set over Franconia range as the fish are feeding. Seeing a moose is pretty comon. ot to help with the heicopter drops for the supplies for the composting privy many years ago there.
