For this, I might even consider using bounce boxes to resupply!

This is the beer reconstituted. (Shoulda taken the pic using an old Gatorade bottle.)

This pops up on the beer forums every once and awhile. It never ends up happening (even with pictures and all that jazz) hopefully this time its real. Although good beer is worth the weight to me, unless they're dehydrating heady topper.

I like beer but this is too fiddly for me. I'll stick with my TN Honey.

Yeah….. no. I agree with ITri. Too fiddly. Now you could always take 180proof liquor to cook with, and then dilute it down to something drinkable with some stream water. Maybe throw in some dehydrated strawberries or apples and let it soak a while before drinking. Ive known people who bring a plastic bag with some dessert wine, but thats about it. I've not seen anyone bring out anything more potent, but I do have a friend that says he could get me some TN Honey if I wanted some, ;)

It's a flavored whiskey made by Jack Daniels. It's smooth and not too sweet.

So, instant beer, eh? Just have to find a clear, cold running stream or spring. 'Cause warm beer made from nasty water isn't going to be worth it.

+ 1 on the TN Honey, or the Seagram's Dark honey or WT's American Honey!

A lot of excellent craft beer is not sold in cans. Without the weight of the packaging (glass bottle), that might be worth it. I mean if you are going to carry a L of water, it might as well be beer. 12 oz of beer in a can weighs about the same as 12 oz of water in a bottle.

I don't take glass in the woods... More and more excellent brewers are doing cans, I doubt I'll get bored. For this trip I have Six Point Brewing's Resin. :D

Yup. Locally we have an entrepreneur who runs a portable canning line on a truck. Small microbreweries can hire it for a day to can a batch of beer. This way small microbreweries can occasionally can some of their product while avoiding the high cost of setting up their own lines.

I want my flying car first. Then, we can tackle drinkable hiking beer.
