I made 1171 miles on local trails (and a little AT), if NOBO I'd be at Rausch Gap Shelter in PA.

Did 10 miles today to finish the year, 25 degrees, light snow ... it was great.

Made my primary goal - at least half the distance of the AT, but just missed my secondary goal of 100 miles a month. Work, the time change and the holidays impacted. I figure that by the time I do all the distance, I'll be ready to do all the distance. Currently aiming for 2016.

Happy New Year.

I haven't added up all the trail mileage but I suspect it's in the usual annual range 1800-4000 trail miles. I stopped adding up my cummulative trail mileage a few yrs ago stopping around 22K. It's just not that important to me anymore.

Colorado Tr thru-hike(threw in several 14ers along the way), Pinhoti Tr(PT) thru-hike w/ extension from PT/Benton Mckaye Trail(BMT) junction to Springer MT, BMT/AT 500 mile Loop, Foothills Tr thru-hike w/ extension, Northville Placid Tr thru-hike w/ 65 mile extension into the High Peaks area of Adirondack Park, Batona Tr yo yo, and about a dozen other multi day hikes in NPs, SPs Wilderness Areas, National Forests, etc. I finally did a hike from Carlsbad Caverns NP in New Mexico to Guadalupe NP(GNP) in Texas and through GNP. I also did a nice 8 day hike in Big Bend NP and a shweet 9 day in Great Smoky Mountains NP that wasn't the AT/BMT. I got to five NPs to hike that I had never previously hiked. I also summitted an additional 4 state high pts(I'm up to 31 state high pts now). I sure I'm forgetting some hikes but that's the majority of what I've hiked in the past 14 months.

I never tried to keep a running tally. 11 on Monday and 37 yesterday though.

I keep a total so that I could check my "progress" in the Companion, read about the trail and shelters, etc. I gives me more meaning to the effort.

Only 500 miles. I had too many other things to do this summer and fall that I couldn't get out to do another longish trip.

Maybe 3000? A SOBO on the AT, a bunch of short hikes on the AT and hikes in NC state parks every weekend. I haven't ever done the math.

Just under 300 miles.
At this rate, I'll have completed all the miles before I'm eligible for Medicare.

2013 was not nearly as good as '10,'11. and '12 in terms of mileage - - I did do a lot of trail running and climbing approaches (that don't count toward my AT re-hike). '13 AT miles would be about 90, total  - not much for Papa D - more this year!!

I reached my goal of 100 miles of the AT in 2013, 104 to be exact. Add another 100 +/- miles of other local trails and retracing my steps on out and back day hikes, I’ve hiked more miles in 2013 than I hiked in the last 20 years. I got a jump on 2014 today, 4.5 miles out and back on the AT in Northern VA.

Couple of hundred locally. About 50 miles on the LT (I was there for the beer). The 206 I did on the PCT in Washington state was my favorite section hike ever.

I missed my annual AT section hike for the first time in 13 years. Bummer.

I doubt that I covered more than 100 miles for the year, and that would be day hiking in the Canadian Rockies, Superior Hiking Trail, and around the Twin Cities.

I am going to cover Rangeley to Monson next September, leaving me with only another 130 miles or so to finish up atop Katahdin in 2015.

I did the same as ChinMusic. NoBo thru & some minor hikes: Grand Canyon (Tanner Trl) & some local Texas State parks getting ready for my hike. Lots of day hikes w/ a pack. I don't count that. Only count it if I sleep in the ground.
