At a net cost of $130, I just couldn't pass this one up...

I already own a 20º synthetic bag I bought 20 years ago that still serves me well. But the old bag weights over 4# and the stuff sack is something like 8"x18".

Last year, I bought a Mountain Hardware UltraLamina 32º bags for warm weather use, and fell in love with the compress-ability of this synthetic bag. The 32º bag weights about 2# and comes with a 6"x10" stuff sack. The 15º bag is about 3# and comes with a 7"x12" stuff sack.

So I've been on the lookout for clearances on the 15º bags. I found that Sierra Trading Post still has several 2012 model year bags in stock (Left Zip Long only). Their advertised price is $199.95, but they also have multiple coupons active at any given time. I had signed up for their DealFlyer emails and got a coupon for 35% off and free shipping, making my net cost only $130.

At the moment, the best coupons I can find that is active is 30% off (shipping isn't free) making a current net cost of $153. But if anyone else is looking for a good cold weather synthetic bag, keep an eye out for even better coupons in the future. Last I saw, they still have over 50 of these bags in stock.

Yea, the 2013 models are even lighter than this 2012 ;) But it wasn't worth twice the cost to save something like 3oz.
