Parking at Ashby Gap

Are there any recommendations of where to park at Ashby Gap in VA? Looking at satellite images there does not appear to be anywhere to park that is not private property. Planning on starting and/or ending some hikes there in a few weeks. Thanks in advance.

There is actually a small parking area there to park. It's very small maybe holds 5-6 cars. It's on a small side road, close to, but not directly on Rt. 7.

Oh right Studlintsean... my bad. I was thinking of another place on Rt 7. I was thinking of Snickers Gap not Ashby Gap.

Right off if RT 50 is Blue Mountain Road on the right (very steep right turn). Go right there and then 1/4 mile up the road on the left is a parking lot. It's very hard to miss. Your car is fine there. From there head down the trail and go right on AT for north or left to go south. Nice hike headed into the roller coaster which isn't that bad (that's a whole new debate).
