Finished your hike? Looking for a great way to give back to the Trail? The Appalachian Trail Conservancy's Mid-Atlantic Crew still has slots in September and October for volunteers interested in doing trail work.

Without the dedicated volunteers of the 30 A.T. maintaining clubs, there wouldn't be an Appalachian Trail for the public to enjoy. When requested by local maintaining clubs, ATC's volunteer trail crews support their efforts by taking on larger or more complex projects.

Based in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, the Mid-Atlantic Crew work week is Thursday to Monday. Depending on the project, the crew may set up a camp near the project site. This year the Mid-Atlantic Crew will be turnpiking and building a mobility impaired boardwalk in Pennsylvania, rehabing CCC-era crib wall in Virginia and extending a bridge and replacing bog bridging in New Jersey.
