Hi there,

I've got an unexpected six days off from work next week and was thinking of making a 3- or 4-day hike out on the trail. I haven't decided on which sections, yet. And it wouldn't be very strenuous seeing as I haven't done any extensive backpacking in a few months; maybe 8-10 mi/day. I also have a new bivy/tarp combo I've been waiting to try out as well.
It would take place sometime between the 11th and 17th (forgot about having Presidents' Day off). Reply or message me if you're interested in putting something together. My pace is about average and I'm quite agreeable on most matters on the trail.

Matt

EDIT [2/5]: Tuesday-Thursday has a 70-80% (http://www.wunderground.com/q/locid:ALSPCHEA) chance of rain for Cheaha State Park but is reported to clear up Thursday afternoon. I don't mind walking through some rain but Thursday-Sunday might be better. Let me know.

We have a group of 8 (or 10) doing a section of the GA Pinhoti if you want to join us at the motel Friday in Dalton to start out next morning going from Section 23 to 25 which is about 30 miles. This is starting northwest of the town of Summerville, going north to the last trailhead before I-75 and Dalton - Sat, the 15th through Mon, the 17th. We are with AHTS . here is a facebook link, or you can reply to me by private message. I am going up Thursday to get in an extra 1 1/2 days hike, starting from Sloppy Floyd State Park. Edwin

Edwin,

That sounds great. The only thing that might hold me back is how late we'd finish on the 17th. Maybe that 9pm time on the facebook event is exaggerated to include driving time home. If Monday plans to be a normal day on the trail, finishing in the early-mid afternoon, then I think that'd work for me.
