I feel like I'm the only one :(

I was originally hoping to start SOBO this summer, but have decided to head NOBO 2015 instead, funds weren't looking quite right!
I think one of the appeals of going SOBO is that you miss a bit of the crowds, if your worried about setting out alone, maybe find out a popular start week and hit the trail then.
Good luck on your hike!! I'll be cheering from the sidelines this year!

You can search by year and direction, I think there was 4 ladies just on the first page! You will definitely have some fellow lady hiker companions!

My girlfriend will be hiking SOBO with me this year, so she will be there! :)
You're not the only one. I'm heading to Maine at the beginning of June right after my nephew's graduation. Should be hitting the trail by June 5. Goal is to get home by my favorite holiday, Thanksgiving! Sure we'll run into each other at some point along the way.

I'm thinking of flipping when i get to Harper's Ferry after starting NOBO this year. Should be heading SOBO from Katahdin around that time. See ya then!

There were a ton of SOBOs last year week of jun 16th (previous two weeks were hammered with rain)
Sounds like it! I'm trying to leave early June and be back by Thanksgiving as well, so we should be pretty much on the same track

I'm flip-flopping, so I'll be headed south from Waynesboro, VA sometime mid August, maybe we'll catch up!
My girlfriend and I will be heading south during the second week of june.

"Samson" here. I'm planning to start June 29th (SoBo), but only going as far as 6 weeks will take me. I've already hiked from Harper's to the border of VT/NH.

Arriving BSP 01Jun14 to slackpack Katahdin on 01 or 02Jun wx dep ( and if open?!). Launch hubby off trail and head SOBO nlt 03Jun rain or rain. :) slowpoke slither thru the mud
