Today it is February 13, 2014 and it is snowing along the ENTIRE length of the AT. No matter where you are on the trail from Springer to Katahdin, today you're getting hammered by a snowstorm!
I heard this on the news tonight.

We told them not to start in Febuary, but would then listen, no. Now thier paying the price.
At least if your on the AT now, you don't have to worry about power outages.

Pretty neat. Will probably make for a much more crowded AT in late March/early April.

I kinda jealous, i haven't been in a snow storm in 10 years. Hot and humid in hawaii today, horrible just horrible.
Yeah, but what if you run out of fuel trying to make hot chocolate to stay warm?????
I guess you rub a couple of sticks together?
Run out of fuel? In the mountains? In February? Dumblight Operator Error!
Meanwhile, I got a bunch of photos of my grandchildren having a BLAST!!! In the snow in Boone, NC. Not at all pointless.
If any of the phone toting NOBOers missed the alerts for this storm... Well, you know what I didn't say.
