Just saw this on Amazon today: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ESI96SW/ref=pe_604630_113018690_em_2p_0_ti.

Someone went commercial with the backpacking idea of putting your cook pot in a cozy to save fuel.

Disclaimer: I have no connection to Amazon or whoever is selling these. I think the donation angle is pretty cool, but the $50 price tag is rather unbelievable - even if you think of it as the price for two.

www.antigravitygear.com has a cozy selection all for less than $15 each. They have been selling them for years.

As a young boy I remember my Mom & Dad using one on the tea pot.

We have several tea-cozies, but usually, I just throw a dish towel on the tea pot.

Tea cozies have been around for a century or two.

Fireless cookers have been around for more than a century, very similar in concept to the cooking cozies, just a lot heavier. They kitchen version is a wooden cabinet with a hinged top and insulated tin lined holes for placing pots. You'd bring the food to a boil in a heavy pan with a tight top, then place in this insulated cabinet. I always wanted one of these because it's very energy efficient. I've seen one in an antique store.

There was a camping version of this that was an insulated pail.

Hmm, never thought about using a cozy for my tea pot.

Planning on using insulated lunch bag from dollar store. Light and crushable.

You can buy that material, aluminum covered bubble wrap, as a windshield sun shield for your car. Use aluminum duct tape. Took me about 1 hour to make one, custom made and pretty cheap.
I'm going to make a beanie of what's left, to keep the alien brain waves out of my advanced brain!!

I've made a couple of pot cozies that double as containers for pot, stove and fuel.

Getting a new pot before I go out this spring. One in which a small fuel canister will fit. So I'll be back at the drawing board for V3.

Yesterday I made my pot cozy using the Antigravity Gear kit.

If you can get the reflecitx and tape, you can just use their instructions.
Or they will make yours to order, custom fit for your pot.
