So I bought a back pack of Miller gear. I sent the money through Paypal to the email he gave me. And then immediately after that he emailed me saying he gave me the wrong email address and gave me a new email address. I looked at his post and all of them are selling used gear and he's only participated in selling used gear threads. I haven't got a reply from him yet but he's online. I'm just hoping I didn't get screwed out of $85

I have never heard of Miller before seeing his gear post. I hope its not true. Seems like a lot of hassle to scam $85 knowing everyone on here would know about it.

Yeah it's weird that he hasn't been active in any other threads

They won't refund it I already contacted PayPal they said the only way to get it refunded is to ask the person to refund it. They said if I can't contact him in 24 hours call back

Just curious for my own knowledge, was the paypal transaction done as a standard payment, or was it done as a "gift" transaction? I don't use paypal very often and am just wondering how they settle different kinds of disputes.

So it looks like the payment was reversed. Now I'm just sketched out to buy from this Guy. Why would u send someone the wrong PayPal information???? All of his post are selling used gear. Plus he hasent even tryed contacting me yet.

assuming he reads this thread at some point in the future, seems he would want to clear his name

If you are referring to this millergear (http://www.whiteblaze.net/forum/member.php?2795-millergear) and this millergear on hammockforums.net (https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/member.php?u=142) I can say he has many sales under his belt and I don't recall any complaints against him at least as long as I've been an admin (Oct 2013).

I'm glad to hear that. Maybe he really did just give me the wrong email. Thanks hill ape. Close thread.

Toon

I still haven't heard back from millergear but I'm sure everything is good. It would be damn near impossible to scam somebody on this site without everyone knowing right away

If he sent you the wrong info and you then paid someone according to that info, then shouldn't he be responsible for that money if it's not returned to you? (If I'm understanding this correctly.)

Toon

I would hope he would take responsibility but luckily the person paid me back.
