Currently have a Marmot helium 20 deg down bag...love it but lil warm spring summer. What temp rating should I get for April-sept hiking in ga-va on AT...

40 degree would be my choice.

April into early June can still be real chilly at upper elevations. Are you definitely looking for a quilt? Quilts are so easy to vent, you can get away with lower temp ratings. But since you already have a 20 bag and you're probably looking for something much lighter weight to swap out for when it gets warm, I'd say a 40 degree quilt. The hammock cottage vendors are the best value:

hammockgear.com (lightest, but Argon fabric is delicate on the ground)
undergroundquilts.com (lower cost 700 fill option)
enlightenedequipment.com (more sizing options)
arrowhead-equipment.com (great value, little more weight)
oxgear.com (custom make only, but cost is same or lower; Mountain Crossings is now selling these)

Here's a link to the specs for Enlightened Equipment's Revelation quilt
http://www.enlightenedequipment.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/2014-Revelation.jpg

That should give you a basic idea based on the size of the quilt and it's fill power.
