That's Bubba. He's only 6mos old so he's the "brains in training". The real brains of the operation was Penny, but she went off to doggie heaven this past fall. Damned good dog she was!

Mud season in Colorado..at least for now. Hit 70F this past weekend. The wife and I did a "stroll" of about 3 miles. Worked out well, as I was able to get some gear sorting done, tested and repaired for a 5 day trip we are doing.

Very nice! I worked for the USFS during the summers and on call while in college. Our mountains here see plenty of rain and some sections are temperate rainforest.....no fires. Ever. Lol, but I did I get to traipse all over the place "training" :D
That's another Great job!
I did get sent to the Great Dismal Swamp for a fire. But had to leave within 3 days after an earthquake followed by a hurricane! True story.

This is the view from the open space behind the office. Sometimes I take a stroll in the open space rather than work out in the gym. Pretty flat (Except for a use trail that drops into a neighborhood), but the view ain't bad.

This evening we walked out on the dock to take a photo of the sunset when we noticed a beaver swimming towards us. He swam right up and dove under the dock. By far the closest I've ever gotten to one.2705527054

This little girl wandered into my yard last week and my GSP female brought her to our door. She was whining and kept running back and forth to the lawn. She kept looking at me like hey stupid get out and do something. She did not harm her at all, not even a tooth scrap. We had the turtle for just a week and she was already eating out of our hands. She will make a good pet for the family that adopted her.

The Moon Light Hike is a nice, very short 2 mile walk. Hardly needed our flashlights.

Next week instead of looking up, we will be looking down. Night scorpion hike to see how many different types we can find.
Sorry I did not have a better lens, but this bird of prey hovered over us for about 5 minutes. Wind was perfect. Bird hardly had to move wings except to steer.
