These are pretty much my last two major items needed other than boots and was wondering if anyone had a pay it for attitude. I live on disability and funds are tight and really and truthfully cannot come up with the money to purchase these items. Any help would be appreciated. By the way, I also have items to pay for.

If you can do with a down vest, take a look at Cabela's. I just paid $60 for a $110 down vest.

If this isn't a joke, I think this is way out of line.

"Last two major items needed" for what? A thru attempt? You can't afford one of the most important pieces of gear yet you have the money to thru? Not only that but you want the jacket to be lightweight (more expensive) and a specific degree bag?

apd07c, I apologize for the way this came out. It is not to be taken in the text it was written. I wrote this after returning home from the VA. What I meant to say is, because I live on disability I don't have the ability to purchase items at full price or sale or clearance and was hoping that if someone had either of these two items and they had extra, and we can agree on a price, I would definitely be interested in a purchase of the items. So basically I'm looking for someone to sell me these items at a good price. The only way I would be able to, in my mind to repay a kindness would be to pay forward an item I am not using and then maybe they may do the same somewhere down the line. So not really looking for a handout which admittedly my first post seemed to be worded, but a considerable deal for me and a PIF from myself.
If this isn't a joke, I think this is way out of line.

This winter i bought two of the Royal Falcon down jackets from Walmart, one my size, and one a size larger. $30 each, and 11.7 oz. apiece. I wore one over the other and a pair of Montbell UL down pants. ($145, ouch) This combination was plenty warm at an air temperature of 17 deg. Along with my DIY down quilt, it all compressed very small, and is very comfortable to sleep in. I would imagine it would be adiquate to temperatures much lower. Packed in a plastic bag, the items cannot get wet, but I use them in cold winter conditions, so, rain is very unlikely.

Saw this post earlier today. Seems like a good idea
