I'm planning to purchase a WM Alpinlite bag to fill the gap between my WM Antelope and my summer Lafuma. The Antelope has served me well for some 14 years now, when I purchased it I was 6'1 and thus got the longer 6'6" size. Well as the years pass and being slumped over a desk staring at a computer all day seems I'm now 6'0"!! lol - so debating if it makes more sense to go the middle size? Any other 6' er's out there that debated the same thing and advice?

I'm 6'1" (but probably shrinking as well!) and all my bags except one (my deep winter -25 deg bag) are "regular" 6 foot bags (three of them are WM bags). My spring/fall bag is that same regular length Alpinlite. I think WM bags in particular are fairly generous with their length dimensions. My "regular" MHW phantom is just barely long enough though.

Agree with Colorado Rob... My WM bags are generous when it comes to length (and warmth!). I suspect you'd be fine with a 6' bag - just make sure you can return it if you get it and decide you want the extra length offered by the 6'6" bag.

I'm 6'1". The downside to my Marmot Helium long is that I simply have too much room at the foot and that provides no value or can be a negative since there is more airspace to warm up and the foot of the bag can more easily brush up against the side of my shelter and attract condensation. If I buy another bag, I would try the regular length first to see if it works for me before buying another long.

I think you're safe, it seems to me you only have to worry about Montbell bags, as I think their regular length is around 5'10''.

I'm six foot dead even, 186#, and normal build. I used to own a 6' 6" Alpinlite, but sold it and bought a normal (6 foot) Megalite. Very comfortable and plenty of room to move and stretch out in. :)

If you are anywhere near 5'10" or taller, I would recommend a 6'6" bag, you can always put some extra clothes at the feet to fill up a little space. WM is a great company and are American made.

Interesting. I'm 6 feet and both my WM bags are Long. The Regular just seemed too short.

it also depends on how you sleep also.

im 6-3 so 6' just doesn't cut it.

I am 5'11". I have WM bags. All of mine are 6'6". I switched over from the shorter bags and have not regretted it.

I'm 6'-1" (used to be 6'-2") and have happy feet, I need a long, the long I believe also helps with pulling the hood over my eyes when the sun comes up and I want to sleep.

The owners sleeping style comes into play. I'm 5-10 so a regular is perfect. If I were taller I think the regular would be fine since I rarely have my head IN the bag. Even then my legs are rarely fully straight. My style is the lay the bag over me like a quilt and wear clothing for my head.

Before I traded my 6'6" bags for a regular sized Megalite, I tried it out in the store. Fit me perfect with no restrictions. I really like having the regular sized over the long because it is slightly lighter, less bulky when packed, warms up quicker (less volume to heat), and doesn't become an issue in some shelters with the foot of the bag rubbing against the end wall and possibly picking up moisture. Works for me, may not for others. :)

I'm 5'8" and went with a long bag because of the extra 2 " shoulder girth.
